My Favourite Baby Essentials

5 baby Essentials from Dawn Whittaker
Baby Essentials

A while back, a client asked me what baby gear I thought was the most essential (because as you know there's a lot of baby products out there).

Here's my list of the top 5 baby essentials.

Good Pac n´ Play

I don't just like these for traveling, I think that they are excellent to have set up as an extra ‘station' on the main floor of your house so that you don't have to keep going upstairs. It also gives you a safe place to put a baby down, change their diaper, and keep all your change supplies in one location (away from a green-eyed toddler ) or any green-eyed pets. My pac n' play was a lifesaver with Hendrix; as I had 2 Alaskan malamutes roaming around and 2 other children... My favorite brand is Mamas & Papas, but they don't ship to Canada. This one from Connolly is the closest I've seen to it.

Haakaa Silicone Pump

I wish they had this product on the market when I had a baby. I LOVE the concept of it; being that rather than losing breastmilk to your breast pad, bra, etc, it's collected and stored for your little one.

 PumpEase Hands-Free Pumping Bra

When I had my third, I had to go back to work when he was 2 weeks old. So, I was hooked up to the pump all the time. The PumpEase hands-free Pumping Bra was awesome as I would be folding laundry talking on the phone and cooking dinner all whilst expressing breastmilk

Conair White noise machine

Any White Noise machine will do! This Conair one that is available at London Drugs is quite popular with a lot of my clients. It's a great way to set the stage for successful sleep. And, with all the apps out there, you can always download white noise for travel too. I actually have a pretty detailed post on great white noise and which machines are best here.

Grobag Sleep Slac

Back in the day, there were not as many sleep sacs on the market as there are now, but I love this brand, and it's British! They are always tog rated (I find some of the sleep sacs are not graded properly), the smaller ones have snaps under the arm to stop a baby from dropping into the sack. I also love how well they wash and how long they last.

What sleep sack do you use? Do you have any baby essential must-have products that aren't listed above? Leave me a comment below and let me know which ones.
